Beware of Winter

Mystical wintry gusts

Dazzling silvery snow

Covering trees in powdery dusts

Scattered by the winds strong blow

With gray clouds hanging dark and low

The world sleeps under a sheet of ice

Spinning sleepily, gently and slow

Beautifully sparkling, all to entice

Only to trap!-a cold, barren power

Leeching and biting through the warmest socks

As lonely and sad as Rapunzel’s tall tower

Tricky, deceitful, imitating the fox

And with the utmost caution do we dress

To go against this dangerous magic

Surviving the winter our only quest

Because meeting our end would be far too tragic

Happy St. Patrick’s day!
